Local scholars from South Mississippi
are among the 2005 initiates into the
Phi Kappa Phi academic honor society at
Ole Miss. Membership in Phi Kappa Phi,
chartered at UM in 1959, is one of the
university's highest honors.
John Anderson Banahan of Pascagoula,
a junior biology major, is the son of
John and Deborah Banahan. He is a member
of Sigma Nu fraternity and a volunteer
with Leap Frog.
Erin Clark of Pascagoula, a junior
pharmaceutical sciences major, is the
daughter of McKinley R. Clark and
Nannette Clark. She is a member of
Lambda Sigma honors society and is the
School of Pharmacy student body
president.
Eric
Davis Hutto of Long Beach, a junior
biochemistry major, is the son of Davis
and Rebecca Hutto. He is a member of
Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity and Alpha
Epsilon Delta pre-medical honor society.
Rebecca Anne Latil of Ocean Springs,
a junior business major, is the daughter
of Oliver and Deborah Latil and James
and Celeste Geiser. She is a member of
the Ole Miss Mock Trial Association and
the Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors
College.
Ashley Elizabeth Peterson of Long
Beach, a junior dietetics and nutrition
major, is the daughter of Elizabeth Dean
and Timothy Peterson. She is a member of
Alpha Omicron Nu and Golden Key honor
societies.
Sara Summers of Gulfport, a junior
international studies and Spanish major,
is the daughter of Mary Alice Martin and
Kirk M. Summers. She is a member of
Golden Key honor society and the Sally
McDonnell Barksdale Honor College.
